About Us

Increase of port capacities on the Russian coast of the Gulf of Finland as well as transport and logistics development are the priority areas of transport infrastructure modernization in the Northwest region of the Russian Federation.

Port of Bronka project is realized within the framework of "The Concept of development for the most prospective areas of Port of Saint-Petersburg". The project was initiated by the Russian Federation Ministry of Transport and the Government of Saint-Petersburg.

According to "The Concept" Bronka will become one of the leading container and roro cargo areas of Port of Saint-Petersburg. Within the boundaries of Port of Bronka the project of the Multifunctional Sea Cargo Complex "Bronka" (MSCC "Bronka"), which consists of stages I and II is being worked out.

The project is realized on the southern coast of the Gulf of Finland in Lomonosov (administrative district of Saint-Petersburg), near Saint-Petersburg flood protection system.

Increased shortage of port capacities in the Baltic Sea region which has always been a "trade gate" between Russia and Europe was a grave reason for the project to be realized. Despite the crises Russian and European experts agree upon the fact that by the year 2025 annual container and ro-ro cargo turnover in the Baltic Sea region will increase up to 190 mln.T/year. Herewith in 2025 forecasting shortage of Russian port capacity will be almost 95 mln.T.

Realization of Port of Saint-Petersburg Avantports Program (and avantport Bronka first of all) will allow to face increasing demand on sea cargo handling and will make Saint-Petersburg more attractive on European market of sea cargo handling.
